I blew my birfield on my 80 series...
« on: May 31, 2016, 01:21:28 PM »

Hey all, I blew a birfield on my 80.
Please don't ask how it was plain stupid.

I'm getting back on the road quick thanks to ToyotaDon.

But I wanted to see what you all think is the best birfield on the market is? Longfields for many years hands down & have since been bought out by Trai Gear.... The new kid RCV or what else?

Your thoughts?

Aloha GW

My understanding is RCV is the company that make the birfields for Longfield until TG took over and ended the contract with them.

So , I say buy RCV.   Just my thought.

So do tell how you managed to blow up an 80 birf...  Let me guess, locker on and a generous amount of the skinny pedal?

After doing reasearch the RVC is the best como birfield & axle. Also not recommended for a full time all wheel drive like the 80 series.
