4x 4Him Bylaws
1. ARTICLE I – CLUB NAME
a. Mission Statement: Our club strives to bring honor to Jesus Christ while enjoying the beautiful world He has made for us.
b. The name of this Organization shall be: 4x4Him
2. ARTICLE II - PURPOSES AND AIMS
a. This Organization shall be non-profit in character, bringing together and promoting the interest of the Four Wheel Drive community as well as enjoying and preserving the beautiful world that God has made for us.
3. ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
a. Membership requirements shall consist of:
i. Own a four wheel drive vehicle, stock or modified.
ii. Attend at least one 4x4Him event.
iii. Must be sponsored by a current club Member.
iv. Agree to conduct themselves in accordance with our creed.
v. Have a desire to follow Jesus.
b. No annual club dues are required for membership. Instead of “dues” an offering will be taken at every club event and meeting.
c. There will be one vote per Member Family.
d. The minimum age for Members shall be eighteen. Each Member must hold a valid driver's license and have at least the minimum legally required vehicle insurance coverage. All Members will refrain from the use of alcohol or illegal drugs and must conduct themselves in a responsible, respectable and orderly manner at all club events and meetings.
4. ARTICLE IV - NEW MEMBERS AND SPONSORSHIP PROCEDURES
a. A 4X4Him Member identifies a potential new 4X4Him Club Member as a Prospect, and becomes the Prospects Sponsor.
b. The Sponsor will be responsible for keeping the Prospect informed of club events, meetings and help the Prospect with any club issues or concerns they may have.
c. Once a Prospect has fulfilled all of the Membership Requirements, (article 3, section a) they will be considered for full membership. All that is needed is a commitment to the club and a single vote, which is the Prospective Members desire to become a Member.
Everything above this point (and in black text) was discussed and adopted at the meeting on May 10th, 2003. Items below this point (and in blue text) have not been adopted yet.
5. ARTICLE V - OFFICERS AND DUTIES
a. The officers of this Club shall be President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
i. The President - Shall be the executive officer and will preside at all Club Meetings. He/she shall have the duty of carrying out the policies and decisions of the Club Members. He/she shall co-sign checks with the Treasurer.
ii. The Secretary - Shall record and publish Minutes of all Club Meetings; maintain the historical records of the Club; write any correspondence as directed by the Club; notify Club membership of meetings and events. He/she shall co-sign checks with the Treasurer.
iii. The Treasurer - Shall receive all monies, be responsible for the bank deposits, disburse funds as authorized, and have the books open for inspection by authorized auditors or Club Members. He/she shall co-sign checks with the other club officers.
6. ARTICLE VI - BOARD OF DIRECTORS
a. The Board of Directors shall be made up of the elected officers and Directors elected by the membership. Elected Directors shall be:
i. Membership Chairman, whose duty it will be to review new club applicants and present them to the membership. He/she shall be responsible for introducing guests and shall keep a log of all visitors at meetings and on club outings.
ii. Conservation Chairman, whose duty will be to work closely with the local conservation officials. He/she will make arrangements for conservation projects for the club to carry out locally.
iii. Safety Chairman, whose duty will be to insure that all vehicles adhere to the prescribed requirements for that event. He/she will also help to educate club members as to safety issues during overnight camping trips.
b. Additional Directors may be added at any time that it is deemed necessary.
7. ARTICLE VII – NON ELECTED POSITIONS
a. Trail Boss – The position of trail boss will change with each event. Every member is not required to be trail boss, but it is recommended. The duties of Trail Boss are:
i. Develop the idea for the event that you are assigned to.
ii. Submit a description of the run to the Secretary to be posted on the web site, and used in any future advertising for that event.
iii. Coordinate all arrangements necessary for the event.
iv. Be the single point of contact for all matters pertaining to the event.
b. Worship Leader – He/she will assist the trail bosses in developing and implementing all aspects of the “Worship in the Wilderness” services.
8. ARTICLE VIII – MEETINGS
a. Membership meetings shall be held once a month, date, time and place at the discretion of the membership. Special meetings may be called one-half hour prior to the regular meeting for any designated purpose. Board meetings will be at the call of the President.
9. ARTICLE IX - ELECTIONS AND VOTING
a. Elections and Voting In of Officers and Board of Directors shall take place each year during the January Members only meeting. Nominations will be accepted from the floor. A two-thirds majority Member vote will rule for all matters.
10. ARTICLE X – CHANGES TO BYLAWS
a. All changes to these Bylaws shall be submitted to the Secretary in writing. Changes will be introduced and voted on at the next scheduled Club meeting. Changes shall require a two-thirds majority vote of present members.
11. ARTICLE XI - PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
a. Robert's Rule of Order, revised, and shall be the parliamentary authority in all matters not covered in these by-laws.
