bass lake ranger district
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:06:55 PM »

Linda contacted me today and asked if we would be interested in "adopting" the Shuteye trail. It would be easy since there are little to no trees, it would mainly be clean up which I've never seen it very dirty. It would be a GREAT witness opportunity since we could put up a sign and it is Heavily used.

This would be an awesome opportunity for the club!

Perhaps we should bring it before the board and vote on it first?  (I already know my vote!  :agree:)

Having recently seen our official Red Lake Campground agreement, I was taken aback by some of the provisions, I'd like to see what they propose the agreement to be before we agree to it. Is that possible? Do we have any room to negotiate any of it or is it a "take it or leave it" kind of arrangement? :2cents:

I'm all for it, but we are currently having trouble putting together more than one run a year to maintain what we have already signed up for. I say we have a team of at least three people who can guarantee they can make it twice a year and if not they will make arrangements to find a substitute.  We should have that established for each location we have adopted.  Otherwise we have one person who is asking for help every year and we can make only one trip.

I make some pretty cool signs routered in wood if we want one for a trail.

Where can I read about our trail obligations for red lake?  Speaking of which, when do we go open it?

BLRD is no where near as "Formal" as the "High Sierra" side. We allready have Star and Iron and no paper work was ever done, just a club roster every year. We never did put up signs on those either, which is something we should get SERIOUS about, I could propose to them that THEY provide signs for all three and we would agree  :hmmm: Basically we could do all three  of those in 1 weekend.

It should go before the club for a VOTE at the next meeting, this is just a feeler I put out for everyones opinions and input.  :usa:

I'd be willing to help with maintenance on the shuteye trail. It's basically my backyard. And I have a very open schedule.

I live in YLP so I'm close also, work out of Coarsegold (Mountain Aire). I'm planning a trip up soon, just real busy with life, I'll post a date soon.

YLP the one with access to Blackhawk lake?  I love kayak fishing that place when I had access.

Yup, GREAT fishing, it's about a 1/4 mile from my house.
