Ok, I'm in. What I thought might be going on that day isnt until the next day!  :woohoo:

I'll have the Rover with the banner lit up on the roof rack facing forward, and either the trailer like I had for Hanford, or just run the lights on the Rover, depending on amount of aailable time (if I had someplace I could put the atv trailer loaded and setup under shelter from the weather/rain until next weekend I'd leave it setup as is, but I dont know anyplace it can go for a week). one way or the other, I plan to be in with the banner on the roof.

Staging is at the rodeo grounds. I won't know what time we need to be there until I get the letter from the parade committee but it will be somewhere between 4:30 and 6.

We all need to meet somewhere beforehand and enter the staging area as a group. I haven't come up with anything yet so if any of you have an idea please let me know.

Thats the one thing about this parade that doesn't make sense to me, insurance on vehicles.. its a PARADE... I've been in parades in 4 towns (2 Christmas, 1 Veterans, 1 homecoming style parade) and none had that...I guess they wont be allowing tractors/etc in the parade? Which is really dumb with the western roots of Clovis...
I've been in parades with a lot of vehicles that werent street legal, from tractors, to go carts,to a full out race car from the Kings raceway in Hanford one year.

It has to be the committee putting it on.  I use my rig to pull a float for my Judo club in the Clovis Rodeo parade, and they never asked for any insurance information.  I've seen tractor's, golf carts, and horses all pulling trailers/floats/entry's.

So, must not be Clovis, must be the committee.

yes I am most deffinatly not driving anything for this parade. The trailer is being put back into storage till the first of the year.  So...  Maybe I will dress up and walk!  Or stand on the sidelines and be the overly extatic fan!

I believe the Jeep will be ready for the parade this weekend. Do you know what we need to do for this week? I have told the kids we might be doing it but I wanted to make sure we are going to be able to be involved. Let me know what it is I need to do to insure a place in this.
Thanks again. We are going to pick up an inverter this week and I would like to take you up on a few of your extra lights.
Call me because I didn't get a chance to save your number.

Hope you had a great thanksgiving.

I should have a free seat in my rover.. there are 4 window seats and only 3 of us in it (me and my two nieces, unless they bail on me to ride in Big Red  :crazysanta:) you're welcome to the open seat.

We are taking the windows off the Jeep soft top and letting the kids ride with us. Does anyone know if we can bring candy canes and toss them to the crowd? Just a thought. Let me know and we will get a few dozen. How extravagant is everyone getting? Just a few lights? Are some of you going to visible from space?
We are looking forward to it.
Stacey, if you need my insurance card just let me know and I will email a copy for you to print. We don't have a working printer right now.

I am all for a tailgate that afternoon.

Tailgate sounds good to me too.
As far as lights, I'm going to take the two strings of white lights that I had on the trailer and run them around the Rover (one high and one low), and have the banner on the roof with a flood light, with my 650 generator on a mount off the hitch..  Thats all I'm planning on doing.
