Let's Go Wheeling! / Bring a Friend Run
« on: May 20, 2019, 12:51:40 PM »
I'm trying to put a run together on June 1st to Bald Mountain weather permitting.
This run is about bringing someone who hasn't wheeled before, so find a friend and bring a lunch
to enjoy at the tower. We will be meeting at the Dinky Staging Area at 0830 and leaving at 0900 SHARP!
At this time there is still  18" of snow on Bald so dress accordingly. Again this is weather permitting.
See you there!
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Vendors Support / Matthews Carbine / Keith Matthews
« on: December 14, 2017, 07:20:43 AM »
I have been doing some business with Keith Matthews and am extremely happy with his prices and workmanship.
Bought a home defense shotgun for my daughter at a very reasonable price and had some  trigger work done on a SP 101,
after I got it back it was hard to believe i was shooting the same gun the trigger pull was greatly reduced and smooth.
I highly recommend Keith for any shooting needs or gunsmithing you may have.

What is going on with Other Clubs / Valley Children's Toy Run

Please show up and support this worthy event, just bring a new unwrapped toy and join the convoy to VCH.

Hope to see everyone there. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Land Use / Public Service / CPR / Chainsaw Class
« on: July 13, 2017, 05:49:27 PM »
I received this from Mike, hope some of you are able to attend. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Mike needs to know ASAP.

I just spoke to Meredith Hollowell. She gave me permission to put on a First Aid/CPR Class on Saturday, July 22nd. She also expressed that we need to get at least 20 students for the class for me to instruct another one. The location of this class will be Prather. The time will be from 8:00am to roughly 4:30pm.
For Chainsaw Certification/Recertification push for your folks to attend Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30. This will be with the Stewards of the Sierra National Forest. A located has not been selected yet. We will pick a location that benefits the most individuals once we see who signs up. For those needing recertification only we should be able to get this completed in one day on Saturday but all are encouraged to spend both days. Please bring all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as a chainsaw and associated gear (gas, bar oil, wedges, axe, etc).
The Stewards of the Sierra National Forest will have two to three candidates that the Forest Service, through me,  will mentor into full instructor status so this group can work within themselves for Chainsaw Certification.
Please make a strong push to help get your people in these two sessions to be held during the third and fourth weekends of July.
There will also be some opportunity to work in some other Chainsaw Certification in association with Trail Opening. These times and dates could be more “hit and miss” depending on our Restoration Projects and when the snow will allow us to get into Brewer and Red Lake areas.
Lastly, please think ahead on some dates in the fall and the following spring that we can pick in advance for both First Aid/CPR and Chainsaw Certification. Be prepared to talk about these dates at the next Adopt A Trail Meeting.

Hope to see eveyone there. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Let's Go Wheeling! / Bring A Friend Run June 3rd.
« on: May 03, 2017, 08:54:52 AM »
It's that time of year again when we have our Bring a Friend Run. If you haven't been in the past it's a run where we try to bring someone who has never been wheeling before.
Monyman and I tag team this with Don leading the pack and I helping with spotting through the difficult areas if you should like to try them. We will be going to Bald Mountain (pending trail conditions) which is a fairly easy run with play areas of varying difficulty. We will run the trail to the tower for lunch and a beautiful view of Shaver Lake. A show room stock rig can make this run, so grab a friend and your lunch and come wheel with us on June 3rd, it's the first Saturday in June.
I promise you will enjoy your time on this one.

Hi everyone , Cecil Howard will be coming home after close to 4 months in the hospital and I would like to get some guys to gather to mow and weed eat his yard.
Its a large yard but with 4 or 5 people we could knock it out pretty quick.
Thought it would be nice for him to come home to a nice yard. I was thinking Wednesday the 29th. I get off at 2:30 so let me know what works for everyone. Thanks!

What is going on with 4x 4Him Christian Wheelers / Great Friend
« on: October 27, 2016, 12:15:11 PM »
Just wanted to make a shout out to Jacob Krogen, what a friend! Last weekend Susan and I left for three days to Calico to go wheeling with Dave and Linda Skaggs and about Barstow Susan remembered the cat was locked in a bedroom. After trying to get a hold of our neighbor to no avail we thought about turning around but then thought we would try  to call Jacob to pick the locks and let the cat out. He dropped what he was doing and headed to Madera to help out. In the mean time our neighbor got back to us and got in the house and rescued the cat. In the few minutes from the time I called Jacob he was already at 41 and Ave. 12. I can't tell you what it means to have a friend like this!
 Thanks again buddy!
