As many of you may know, Hunter has been an extremely sick baby for the past 7 days. It started out with a runny nose to him being flown by helicopter from Valley Children's Hospital down to Santa Clara Kaiser on Tuesday (2 days ago). Please pray for Hunter and Mommy and Daddy.

He is still in the hospital and is not yet out of the woods but is finally beginning to respond to treatment. You can read the whole story here where you can also donate a few bucks to help with their mounting expenses if you are able and would like to. Blessings to y'all!

Prayer Request / Donations being accepted for Cecil
« on: January 05, 2017, 11:53:32 AM »
Hi everyone,

Miss you all SO sooo much!!

I'm sure that most of you already know that a fundraiser is being done for our brother, Cecil Howard due to medical bills. If you don't know what is going on with him, this link will explain his story. Please pray for him and for his loved ones as this is hard on all of them, no doubt!

I am sure that they would gladly accept any amount.

Love and Miss you all, <3

Mindy (Mrs. Birddog - haven't been called that in a very long time. ha!)

Here is the link - https://www.gofundme.com/cecil-howard

Our son and future daughter in law were just admitted into hospital as she is having steady contractions. Don't know how soon baby will get here, but I cannot reach Johnny as he is out of range on his work trip. Very upsetting to not be able to reach him. Why he planned this trip

If any of you have the ability by forestry radio or any other way to reach him it would greatly appreciated. Maybe someone has Anthony B phone number and could call him??

Because my cell phone was lost a couple of weeks ago, I am using my mothers phone and he does not know this. So, if you could please have him call me on it. Her number 972-7507

CHANGE that!!! Just got a call that she has gone from 3 to 9 and is about to have this baby right now.

I am going to FLY to Bako.

Hi guys,

Johnny is in Coyote with friends from Sac currently. Just heard that there is a forest fire 6 miles NW of Huntington Lake which (as of report 3 hrs ago) had burned between 2000-3000 acres and was at zero containment. Anyhow, I know that he is pretty far away, but does anyone know the approx miles Coyote would be away from Huntington??

Pretty sure I don't need to worry, but was hoping someone could tell me that I have no need to. :)

Thanks all,

RHRU 2012 / A place to THANK all who made RHRU 2012 possible
« on: August 06, 2012, 02:16:22 PM »
Well, we will start first...

Special and Huge thanks to John, Tamara and your kids for all of the time and effort you put in. We know firsthand what a big commitment heading this event up is. Now, that you're back from your vacation, go and take a vacation! ha!

Thanks also to Ed for going and getting, prepping and cooking our delicious meat for us on Saturday night...AND for providing that awesome homemade grill!

Thanks to Tracy for both designing and taking care of getting our T-Shirts ordered and taken care of for us. John and I ALSO know first hand how crazy things can get with T-shirts, sooo... way to go, Tracy!

Thanks to Cheryl and Carina for organizing, providing for and making the Ladies Lounge the success that it was. We all had such a great time! For those of you who couldn't make the Ladies Lounge, Cheryl and Carina created a really pretty, girly area with lots of beautiful decorations. They also baked their hearts out and provided several different types of homemade cookies for us. Even the napkins were cute! Thank you girls!

Thanks to all helpers that helped in any capacity to make this event possible.

You are all loved and deeply appreciated!!

Prayer Request / Cousin took his own life
« on: June 23, 2012, 02:18:31 PM »
Please pray for my cousin, her husband and their entire family. Their son, Daniel Faddis (only 27yrs of age) took his own life this past Wednesday. Only 3 days ago. Please pray for Daniel's fiance also. Her name is Michelle. They were to be married this next month.

They are all in absolute shock and in deep deep sorrow.

If you want to see a few pics of Daniel, you can visit my Facebook page. If we are not friends, "friend me" and I'll respond.

Thank you for your prayers guys.

Prayer Request / Our New Grandbaby is sick
« on: June 11, 2012, 04:29:42 PM »
Hi Guys,

Just a few hours ago I posted up on the Praise Report Thread http://www.4x4him.com/Forum/index.php/topic,6706.0.html) about our new granddaughter being born.

Now, we need prayer. We should be hearing back any minute on baby's Bilirubin levels, which will indicate how bad her jaundice is. We are anticipating that she will be admitted, likely, to Fresno Children's.

FYI - Jaundice is a yellow discoloration of the skin and/or whites of the eyes that is often seen in newborn infants. The discoloration is caused by a yellow substance called bilirubin. Infants with high blood levels of bilirubin, called hyperbilirubinemia, develop the yellow color when bilirubin accumulates in the skin. Jaundice is not a disease but is a symptom of an elevated blood bilirubin level. Jaundice is not painful, but serious complications can occur if elevated bilirubin levels are not treated in a timely manner. Jaundice is a marker used to identify those infants who may be at risk for developing severe hyperbilirubinemia. Severe hyperbilirubinemia can be toxic to the nervous system of infants, potentially even causing brain damage.

Baby has been asleep all day. Not normal. Yes, newborns sleep alot, but not this much. Once they are hard to arouse, it is likely that the jaundice is severe and that they need to go to hospital. This is where we are at. Julianna went through the same thing and was in Fresno Children's Hospital for 3 days and got better. Though encouraged by this, this is still scary and difficult.

Johnny has to work. I have to stay here (home) with Julianna (their firstborn), Miguel (Brittani, our daughter's fiance) has a brand new job so cannot get anymore time off of work, sooo Brittani will likely have to be at Children's by herself. :(
I stayed with her all day and night last time.

Please pray for healing, peace and comfort.

Thanks all,

John and Mindy

Praise Reports / Our New Grandbaby
« on: June 11, 2012, 01:02:30 PM »
Hi all,

Our new grandbaby was born on Friday morning around 8:45 am. Labor and delivery was very fast and went well. Brittani and Miguel (well...and Nonna :P) are exhausted, but doing great. Brittani is recovering much more quickly this time as compared to when she gave birth to Julianna. Yay!

Our new granddaughter's name is Jocelyn Fay. She was 7lbs 7oz. 20/5 in long. Perfect!

She is at her first pediatrician's appt as we speak. Please do pray for baby as she is looking very jaundiced today and yesterday. Don't know if y'all remember, but Julianna spent 3 days in Valley Children's when she was only a few days old as her bilirubin was very high. We are very much hoping that Jocelyn will not have to be admitted but that we can take care of this at home (our house) by placing her in indirect sunlight in front of windows, etc. Thankfully, we have plenty of warm sun. Julianna was born in January so warm sun was not on our side.

Attached are a couple of pics of each of our granddaughters.

We are in love once again!!!

Tim Hawkins is such a goof!

Have a watch.

Items Being Looked For / Baby CRIB
« on: January 27, 2012, 01:40:48 PM »
Ok, so no, this is not a rig item, but is a need.

We need a crib for our extra bedroom for when our grandbaby (will be grandbab(ies) in June) come and stay. Baby has outgrown little portable travel one that we have.
Need a really cheap one if you have one or know of anyone who has one they want to get rid of.

Prayer Request / Prayer for Newborn
« on: January 26, 2012, 08:04:50 PM »
My cousin just gave birth to their 1st baby last night. Don't know any details as to why, except that baby is not breathing on his own and is in NICU on oxygen.

Please pray for his precious little life and Mommy and Daddy - Their names are Bryan and Holly.

Thank you,

Prayer Request / Prayer for Sandi Gaspar
« on: January 23, 2012, 12:53:02 PM »
Hi All,

Please pray for Sandi. These past many months have been the hardest in her life. To add insult to injury, the Dr.'s have discovered that her most loyal companion (Haylie, her Australian Shepherd) of over 9 years has terminal cancer. Sandi is devastated as Haylie is her only "child." Those of you who are true dog lovers can understand. Sandi is leaning heavily into and hanging tightly onto God as her source of help, peace, love and comfort but still covets your prayers.

Haylie is on pain meds, so is being made comfortable as she has her last few weeks/months?? on this earth with Sandi.

Thanks all for your prayers. I knew that this would be the right place to come to ask for prayer (I asked Sandi's permission) as you guys are always so faithful to do so.

Prayer Request / Birddog having Knee surgery today
« on: November 19, 2011, 07:54:08 AM »
Hi Y'all!

Johnny is having knee surgery this morning at 10:20 am. Please pray for him. Surgeon says he'll be off of work for 6-8 weeks if all goes well.

Thanks! Miss you all!

Hi All,

It was such a tremendous pleasure getting to spend the weekend with you all up at Bald for our RockHopper RoundUp. It was a great time!

It would be a huge help to us and we'd really love it if you would take 2 minutes and go to this thread to post your comments on the "Questionnaire" thread. Go here:

ALSO, for those who were committee members, please go to the Members Only section and give your feedback on the new thread there. It would really really help the planning for next years event. Would like to pick your brain when it's still fresh.

Thanks for taking the time to help us out in this way!

Christian Talk / My Scripture Reading from Today
« on: August 11, 2011, 01:15:44 PM »
Such a great passage! Look at and meditate upon the verbs/directives. I hope that you are encouraged as I was.

20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
   listen closely to my words.

21 Do not let them out of your sight,
   keep them within your heart;

22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man’s whole body.

23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

24 Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.

27 Do not swerve to the right or the left;
   keep your foot from evil.

Prov. 4: 20-27
