Items For Sale or Trade / Free Jeep Stuff
« on: November 06, 2018, 09:16:44 PM »
First off, I'm not really a member so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by posting..... but it is free stuff.
A tie rod from a narrow track Dana 30
Some spring hangers and shackles
A couple of clutch pedals '81 and '67
A drag link from a Chevy 10 bolt
A cover plate
Some steering brackets
Maybe some more as I clean up
Nothing worth much but I thought I'd offer it up to some brothers and sisters in Christian before I scrapped it.

Items For Sale or Trade / Free Jeep Cherokee
« on: May 10, 2016, 11:25:08 AM »
Of course there's a catch. Here's the deal. This guy is selling a "whole" Cherokee for $150. https://fresno.craigslist.org/pts/5567754706.html

I went and looked at it yesterday and it has been pretty well picked over. Most of the interior is missing. No trans or transfer case but it is a roller. As I left the guy says "I'll sell it to you for $80." I'm tempted but all I need from it is the steering column, shaft to the steering gear and the pitman arm. That's every bit of $80 to me. So.... I have no problem buying it but I don't want to deal with the carcass. If I buy it and take those parts, would any of you want the remainder? It would not be cost effective to put back to a running Jeep. It would only have use to someone looking for parts. The motor is still in it. You can contact me by text or phone. Richard (559) 289-7755. The Jeep is near McKinley and Marks.

4x4 Tech Assistance / CJ5 Front axle location
« on: March 22, 2016, 09:03:59 AM »
Well first off I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by asking for assistance since I'm not officially a member of your group but my Google search came up empty so I thought you guys might know the answer or at least where to point me for the answer. I'm using a custom frame for the jeep I'm building so I don't have anything mounted as a reference point. I'm at the point where I need to locate the front axle. Can anyone tell me the distance from the firewall to the centerline of the front axle. I am doing a shackle reversal and it has a 5.3 motor so I don't know if that requires moving it forward at all. The springs are 2.5" lift YJ springs.

Self Introductions / New member in Fresno

I've been informed that there is a healthy Jeep vs. Toyota rivalry here. So in full disclosure I'm a Jeep guy but have a lot of respect for the Toyota (my Camry has 200k+). The Jeep is a long way from joining you on the trails. It's a long-term project. I'm a member of Trinity Community Church in Clovis, married and have 3 daughters. In my wilder youth I had a 72 blazer that I ran most of the trails near Huntington Lake. I wanted to get back into 4 wheeling but remembered how rough the crowd can be. A foray into Pirate 4x4 and a day at the rock crawl at Huntington this summer let me know that hadn't changed. Nice to find a Christian group of wheelers.

Oh and the Jeep is a CJ5 that has been stretched to a 4 door and will be getting an aluminum 5.3 and 4l60e. Hence the screen name
