Title: Ham Call Signs
Post by: Rusty on August 12, 2015, 02:21:05 PM
With more people getting 2 meter radios why don't we post up our call signs.
Then there won't be any confusion.

A quick Reminder. You really should print out copies of your new shinny amateur radio licences from the FCC web site. Go to where you see your call sign on the tab "Main"

Go to the top tab labeled "Admin"

Go to the section below labeled "Automated Letters and Authorizations" and click on the top most blue link called "Authorization -- Licensee" This is a PDF link that download the file of your amateur radio license. I highly recommend printing out this and laminating it and carry it with you at all times. Remember, the FCC can at any time request to see you license.

Congrats again,
Don't forget January 9th radio workshop @ Red Monkey.

Haha... for a wheeling HAM, that is an awesome, ironic, callsign.

I am K6TLR... in case it wasn't obvious ;)

How many generals are in the club? Are there many HF frequenters?

I think H2OJEEP is an Extra and there may be some others that are Generals or better, but I don't know who they are. Perhaps someone will tell us.

For under $30 they are hard to beat.  Many of us have this radio as a handheld and then get a vehicle mounted one as well.  I probably use it more then the Ham in my truck.

With a little help from Greg, I got my technician class the end of March, and already got my vanity sign.  :D

Call Sign: KM6JQA N0DYT (I know, it's for a different location, but I like it)
Class: Technician
Location: Visalia, CA
Radios: 3 x Baofeng UV-82 (2 for the boys, and I won the third one from the homework raffle at the class)

My oldest son, Tristan, also got his, which is KM6JPZ (great if he was a Jeep guy, LOL)

Congratulations to you and Tristan Donal.
Look forward to talking to you. Will you be at next months
CVC meeting? Plan on being there and bring Rev to introduce
him to you all.

Not planning to be at the meeting.  :(

We've hung out with Rev a few times, including the last HAM class Greg gave.

This may be off topic and better served in a new topic, but putting this out there for anyone interested...

I found a way to program other people's radios from my house in Sacramento.

I also have a nice database setup of about 250 popular repeaters between Redding and Visalia. Most of them are around grass valley, rubicon, and bay area... with a select few around Oakhurst and shaver lake.

If anyone would like an upload of my database into their radio, let me know and we can talk about what you will need to do on your end.

Cheers!
